FAQ
Ordering
When will my order ship?
At WildTrail, we know you’re eager to gear up for your next outdoor adventure—whether it’s a weekend camping trip, a day hike, or a multi-day trek. That’s why our team works efficiently to process and package every order with the care your outdoor equipment deserves, ensuring it arrives ready to withstand the trails.
For most standard outdoor gear—like lightweight hiking poles, compact camp chairs, or basic backpacks—we inspect, secure, and pack items within 1–2 working days. We use durable, weather-resistant packaging (think reinforced boxes and moisture-proof liners) to protect gear from damage during transit, especially critical for items that need to stay dry or intact. For more intricate, specialized equipment that demands extra attention—such as technical hiking boots with waterproof membranes, multi-person tents with complex pole systems, or precision camping cookware sets—processing times may extend to 3–4 working days. This extra time lets our team verify that all components (like tent stakes, boot laces, or cookware lids) are included, check for proper assembly (e.g., testing tent pole tension), and confirm functional details (like waterproof seals on boots) to ensure your gear performs as expected in the outdoors.
Please note: Orders placed after 3:00 pm EST on Fridays, or over weekends and public holidays, will be processed on the next business day. Once your package ships, we’ll send a confirmation email with a tracking number—so you can follow its journey and count down to the moment you’re ready to hit the trails.
Where do you ship to?
WildTrail delivers outdoor equipment to adventurers worldwide, ensuring that whether you’re exploring a national park in North America, trekking through European mountains, or camping in Australian wilderness, you can get the gear you need.
Shipping times vary by location: Most orders within North America and Europe arrive in 5–10 working days, while international deliveries to Asia, Australia, South America, and other regions typically take 10–15 working days. These are estimates—delays can occur due to customs processing (many countries have specific regulations for outdoor gear, especially items with metal components or electronics like headlamps), local postal disruptions, or seasonal weather events (e.g., winter storms slowing transit in cold regions), which are beyond our control.
For orders shipped outside our base country, keep in mind you may be responsible for additional customs fees, import taxes, or duties. These charges are set by your country’s regulations (not WildTrail) and depend on factors like the gear’s value, material, or intended use. We recommend checking with your local customs office before ordering—especially for high-value items like tents or technical footwear—to avoid unexpected costs that could delay your adventure.
I have a question about my order, who can I talk to?
Your adventure readiness matters to us, so we’re here to help with any order questions. Whether you need to track a shipment (to make sure your tent arrives before your camping trip), check stock for a specific item (like a last-minute backpack), adjust your order (e.g., swapping a boot size), or clarify delivery timelines (to align with your hike dates), our customer service team is ready to assist.
The best way to reach us is through the contact form on our “Contact Us” page. Include your order number, a clear description of your query, and your preferred contact method (email or phone), and we’ll respond within 1–2 working days. For urgent issues—like a missing component in your cookware set or a last-minute change to a gift order—use our live chat feature during business hours, where a representative will help you resolve the problem quickly.
Product
How are the product materials sourced?
At WildTrail, we believe outdoor gear should be tough on adventures and kind to the planet. That’s why we source materials ethically and sustainably, with a focus on durability, environmental responsibility, and supporting communities that share our love for the outdoors.
A large portion of our gear materials comes from trusted local suppliers: For example, the canvas used in our duffels and tent rainflies is sourced from regional textile mills, and the recycled polyester in our hiking jackets comes from nearby facilities that repurpose plastic bottles. This reduces our carbon footprint by cutting down on long-distance transportation and supports local businesses—many of which are family-owned and prioritize sustainable practices.
For specialized materials that demand global sourcing (like waterproof membranes for boots, lightweight aluminum for tent poles, or rechargeable batteries for headlamps), we partner with suppliers who meet strict standards: They avoid harmful chemicals, use renewable energy in production, and ensure fair labor practices. Every material undergoes rigorous testing to confirm it’s durable enough for outdoor use—e.g., testing fabric resistance to tears from rocks, or pole strength to withstand wind—and safe for both you and the environment. We want you to feel confident that your gear not only performs well but also aligns with your values as an outdoor enthusiast.
How accurate are the colors shown in your photos?
We work hard to make sure product images on our site match the true colors of our outdoor gear—so you know exactly what to expect when you unbox it. Our photography team uses natural light (when possible) and professional equipment to capture realistic hues: the earthy brown of a leather hiking boot, the bright blue of a waterproof jacket, or the olive green of a camping tent that blends with forest surroundings.
That said, slight color differences can happen. These may stem from small variations in material batches (e.g., a batch of canvas with a slightly deeper tan than the last) or differences in monitor settings (brightness, contrast, or screen calibration can make a jacket look more vibrant on one screen than another). For gear where color matters—like high-visibility vests or gear you want to match with existing items—we include multiple photos (e.g., close-ups of fabric, shots in natural light) on product pages. If you’re still unsure, contact our team for additional images or details about the color.
Returns
What is your return policy?
We want you to love your WildTrail gear—and if it doesn’t fit your adventure needs, we’re here to help. For full details on timelines, eligibility, and step-by-step instructions, visit our dedicated “Returns & Exchanges” page.
In short: Most unused, unopened gear can be returned within 30 days of delivery, as long as it’s in original condition with tags, packaging, and all accessories (like tent stakes, boot insoles, or cookware utensils) included. Custom items (like personalized hiking poles or embroidered duffels) have specific guidelines, which are clearly noted on their product pages.
My item arrived damaged. What should I do?
We take extra care to package outdoor gear for transit—using padded inserts for fragile items like headlamps, reinforced corners for tents, and moisture barriers for waterproof gear—but if your item arrives damaged (e.g., a bent tent pole, a torn jacket seam, or a malfunctioning camp stove), please notify us immediately.
To resolve this quickly, contact us through our “Contact Us” page within 7 days of delivery. Include your order number, clear photos of the damage (close-ups of the issue and the original packaging), and a copy of the delivery note. Our team will review your claim promptly and arrange a solution that fits your adventure plans: a replacement (to get you ready for your hike), a repair kit (for fixable issues like a broken buckle), or a full refund—whichever works best for you. If we need the damaged item back for inspection, we’ll cover the return shipping costs.
Payment
Do you offer cash on delivery?
Unfortunately, WildTrail does not offer cash on delivery (COD). This decision helps us keep transactions secure and efficient—COD can lead to delays (e.g., missed delivery attempts) or administrative errors that could hold up your gear and disrupt your adventure plans.
Instead, we offer a range of convenient, secure payment options to fit your needs: major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), debit cards, and trusted digital wallets like PayPal and Apple Pay. All transactions are protected by industry-leading encryption technology, so your payment details stay safe. These methods also make returns or refunds smoother if needed—no waiting for cash to be processed.
Can I use Afterpay for products that will ship to Los Angeles?
Yes! We’ve partnered with Afterpay to make outdoor gear more accessible, so you can gear up for your next adventure without waiting. For customers in Los Angeles (and worldwide), Afterpay lets you split your purchase into four equal, interest-free payments, due every two weeks—with no hidden fees as long as payments are made on time.
This option works for most WildTrail gear, from hiking boots to tents, making it easy to stock up for a trip or invest in high-quality gear without a large upfront cost. Simply select Afterpay at checkout, create an account (or log in if you’re an existing user), and follow the prompts to complete your order. Your gear will ship as usual—so you can start planning your Los Angeles-area hike (or beyond) while managing payments on a schedule that works for you.
